Directed by Spike Jonze. With Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson, Rooney Mara. A lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that’s designed to meet his every need.
This movie is fucking tough to watch, holy shit. when you’re only 20min in and you can’t just sit and watch that shit cause all those cringy feels, you know it’s good. Spike Jonze wrote this like a goddamn documentary. Every character has a personality that is so clearly defined that you cant help but to feel their feels. And when all non essential humans in the movie just walk around like drones talking to their phones, it forces the audience to rethink any preconceived notions about human vs AI contact, you cant just say it’s just a fucking computer when no one is connecting with each other anyway.
